Big day for Naas RFC as they bid to secure promotion to second tier of Irish club rugby

Today is a massive day in the history of Naas RFC as they seek to gain promotion into the second tier of the Ulster Bank League.

Naas go into this afternoon's game at the top of the UBL Division 2A and needing victory to secure promotion to the Division 1B. It is game number 18 of a busy league season for the Kildare side when they host Skerries in Forenaughts, and they hold a three point lead over second placed Banbridge at the top of the table.

Last weekend's victory over Malone, coupled with Banbridge's defeat away to Galwegians, has gifted Naas the perfect opportunity to catapult themselves into a higher league. Banbridge take on Malone at the same time today, and defeat for the Down side would mean that regardless of how Naas get on against Skerries, they will gain automatic promotion.

Kick-off in Forenaughts is at 2pm this afternoon.
