Athy's Joey Carbery and Suncroft's Fergus McFadden have been named in the Leinster backline for the province's Champions Cup semi-final clash with Clermont Auvergne on Sunday, but Kill man Adam Byrne has been left out of the squad altogether.

Byrne has enjoyed a stellar year for Leo Cullen's young side, and he will be disappointed to have been omitted for the clash in Lyon despite Leinster confirming that the winger is fit. His place has been taken by McFadden on the right wing, with captain Isa Nacewa lining out on the opposite side.

Sean O'Brien will also miss the massive clash against the French giants with a hamstring injury, meaning his place in the backrow is taken by Rhys Ruddock, with Dan Leavy continuing at openside. Naas man Jamie Heaslip is still missing through injury, while Cian Healy is suspended.
