It's a big day in both codes for underage GAA in Kildare today as St Conleth's Park plays host to a doubleheader of championship action.
First up at 1pm is the meeting of Kildare and Wexford in the Leinster Minor Hurling Championship quarter-final. The promising Lilyhwites have been very impressive this year under manager Cathal Fenton, beating both Meath and Antrim in the group stage to make it the last eight of the provincial championship. Wexford will represent a big step up in class however, and Kildare go into this game as big underdogs.
The U20 footballers play Wicklow in their final group game in the Leinster Championship at 3pm, and Davy Burke's side require a win to make it through to the quarter-final stage. A victory would assure the Lilywhites of a second place finish and would set up a meeting with either Carlow, Louth or Offaly, with the final standings in Group 3 to be decided this afternoon when Offaly host Louth in Tullamore.
