Cian O'Neill makes one change to Kildare team for crucial league trip to Down

Cian O'Neill has turned to Johnstownbridge man Cathal McNally to replace the injured Neill Flynn ahead of Saturday's pivotal trip to Down in the National League.

The Lilywhites sit at the top of Division 2 after wins over Meath, Cork and Fermanagh, and a win over the Mourne Men in Newry would give them a serious boost in their quest for promotion to Division 1.

Flynn was ruled out of the rest of the league campaign after having surgery carried out on an appendix problem, meaning Kildare will be shorn of their top scorer for the rest of their promotion hunt. Captain Eoin Doyle was a slight doubt with a groin injury, but the Naas man takes up his regular place at centre-back.
