Eadestown's Tadgh Beirne set for Irish debut this weekend against Australia

Eadestown's Tadgh Beirne is set to make his Ireland debut this weekend when Joe Schmidt's side take on Australia in the second of their three tests down under.

The Kildare native has impressed with Welsh club Scarlets over the last two seasons, earning a nomination for European Player of the Year in 2018, and also earning a move to Munster.

The 26-year-old has been named on the bench and will provide cover for the second row and the back row, with his versatility a massive plus for Ireland.

There are eight changes to the starting side to the one that lost to Australia last weekend, with Johnny Sexton coming in to replace Athy's Joey Carbery, while Andrew Conway and Garry Ringrose are also additions to the backline.

Cian Healy, Niall Scannell and Tadgh Furlong make up an entirely new front row, while Devin Toner and Dan Leavy also come in to the pack.
