Historic day in store at the Curragh tomorrow and punters could win big as Tote pool reaches €1M

The Tote Pick 6 Pool is expected to tip over the €1 million mark for the first time in history at the Curragh tomorrow. The Tote Pick 6 pot has been rolling over for some time now due to there being no winner at the last number of race meetings, and one lucky punter could be walking away from the Curragh tomorrow as a millionaire.
A Tote Pick 6 bet consists of picking the winners in each of the first six races, and the minimum stake for the bet is a 50 cent partial stake, meaning the lowest bet that can be placed would cost a punter €12.
The Mongey Communications Joe McGrath Handicap with a field of 20-runners is the final leg of the Pick 6 and Tim Higgins, CEO of Tote Ireland, said; “We are thrilled to be facing into a €1 million-plus Pick 6 pool on Sunday at the Curragh and everyone has the opportunity to win or share in what will be the biggest pool that Tote Ireland has ever seen.”
Racegoers will also have the opportunity to receive a free Tote Pick 6 bet when they arrive at the race course.
The main race of the day is the Group 2 Juddmonte Beresford Stakes at the Curragh Racecourse.
The €120,000 contest for juveniles, which was won in the past by the legendary Sea The Stars, Sadler’s Wells and Nijinsky, has attracted four Aidan O’Brien-trained runners as the champion trainer bids to win the race for a 16th time.
O’Brien’s main contender is the two-time winner Capri who will be joined by Exemplar, Latin Beat and course and distance winner Yucatan, while his son, Joseph, runs Eagle Spirit as he looks for another big race success at the Curragh. The field is completed by Jessica Harrington’s debut winner Escape Clause and the Dermot Weld-trained Firey Speech.
Seeking a sixth successive win in the race, Aidan O’Brien commented; “This has been the plan for Capri since he won at Tipperary and we’ve been very happy with him since then. Yucatan won at the Curragh and goes back there too and Exemplar and Latin Beat are in good form. Exemplar ran well at the Curragh before winning at Galway.”
