Just 4 of 11 planned fixtures for new U20 leagues in Kildare to go ahead this morning
The first ever U20 football competition in the county gets underway this morning around Kildare, though only four of the scheduled 11 games will actually go ahead today.
The U20 competition comes in to replace the U21 grade essentially, while the minor grade has been dropped down to under 17 for 2018 and beyond. The competition in Kildare has been split into three divisions with two groups in each, and will be played on a round robin format.
Many of the fixtures planned for this morning have been either postponed or moved to days during the week, though games in Maynooth, Ballymore Eustace, St Laurence's and Allenwood go ahead as planned.
