Kildare boxer Roy Sheahan will return to the ring on December 7 in a mouth-watering card in Castlebar, Co Mayo.
The Athy fighter hasn't been in the ring since he made his professional debut - and return to boxing - when winning Ireland's first ever 'Last Man Standing' title back in March at the National Stadium.
He will be on a big card at the west of Ireland event, with Mayo favourite Ray Moylette topping the bill at the Royal Theatre, while Cork man Gary 'Spike' O'Sullivan, who recently fought for a world title, will also make his comeback in Ireland.
Sheahan had retired from boxing and missed out on the Senior Elite Championships in 2017, seemingly marking the end of his successful amateur career. However, when the opportunity arose to box in the unique Prizefighter competition earlier this year, Sheahan jumped at the opportunity to get back in the ring. He was working on a building site until two months before that event, and only made his professional debut a month beforehand.

Sheahan's opponent for next month's fight has not been announced as of yet, but it will undoubtedly add more intrigue to what promises to be a superb night of boxing.
