Kildare footballers opening league game to begin Eir Sport's National League coverage

The Kildare footballers' opening game of the 2018 league campaign will be featured live on Eir Sport next Saturday January 28, which will be the first Division 1 game aired on television this year.

The Lilywhites will be travelling to the home of the reigning three-in-a-row All-Ireland champions for their first round game, with Dublin annual Croke Park curtain raiser for the league against taking centre stage.

Eir Sport will be covering the game live, following their live coverage of the hurling opener between Offaly and Dublin at the same venue. The hurling throws in at 5pm and the football at 7pm.

Kildare will feature twice on the network's television coverage in the first six rounds of the league, with their St Patrick's Day meeting with Kerry in Killarney also being covered.

TG4 will also have the rights to league games on Sundays, but details of the fixtures they will be covering have not be revealed as of yet.
