Kildare GAA announce challenge fixture against Connacht opposition for later this month
13:15 Saturday 15th of April 2017

Kildare will continue their Leinster Championship preparations with a challenge game against Roscommon later this month.

It will be the Lilywhites' first outing since their National League Division 2 final loss to Galway last Sunday, and it should provide a good test ahead of their first championship outing on June 4 when they play the winners of Laois and Wicklow in the Leinster quarter-final.

Kevin McStay's Rossies are coming off the back of relegation from Division 1 of the National League, and they will play either Leitrim or London in the Connacht semi-final on June 18.

Cian O'Neill's side began 2017 with a victory in a challenge game over Roscommon on January 3 down in Kiltoom, and this time it will be last year's beaten Connacht finalists who make the trip to St Conleth's Park in Newbridge to take on Kildare at 8pm on April 28.
