Kildare Minor Football and Hurling Fixtures revealed
By Robert Cribbin 12:07 Friday 8th of March 2019

The Fixtures for the 2019 Electric Ireland Leinster Minor Football and Hurling Championships have been revealed.

The Kildare Minor Footballers who went all the way to a Leinster Final last year before being well beaten by Meath are in a group that includes Wicklow, Louth and Kilkenny.

The team who will be managed by former Junior boss Colin Ward will be familiar with Wicklow after playing them in two cracking semi-finals last year and this new group will come face to face with the Garden County at Newbridge on the 23rd of April.

Away games will then follow in Drogheda and Kilkenny and with two qualifying from the group for the quarter-finals, Kildare will fancy their chances.

On the other hand the Hurlers are in a tier 2 Group involving Laois, Westmeath and Antrim.

Like the football they have one home game when Laois come to St.Conleths on Saturday the 4th of May before travelling away to Westmeath and a neutral venue in Abbotstown for the Antrim game.

Unlike the Football though they are at least guaranteed a spot in the knockout stages and the group games are about trying to get a favourable draw.
