Kildare secure draw in London to get first point of league campaign

London 1-11

Allianz NHL Division 2A

Kildare achieved their first positive result of this year's National League campaign as they secured a hard-earned draw in a low-scoring affair in Ruislip.

Having lost their opening two games in the league, a draw away to a strong London side is a welcome result as it lifts the Lilywhites off the bottom of the table and ahead of Derry, who play tomorrow afternoon.

It was 0-5 apiece at the break following a first half in which both defences dominated, and a London goal early in the second period ensured they would always remain in touch with their visitors. It remained neck and neck for the remainder of the game after Kildare had pulled the lead back, with a draw ultimately a fair outcome.
