Kildare native Dennis Hogan will be back in action on April 7 in one of the biggest fights of his career when he takes on England's Jimmy Kelly in a world title eliminator.
The Kilcullen man has been based in Australia since 2011 and has enjoyed a hugely successful professional boxing career down under, winning 26 fights, drawing one and losing another, which was a world title fight against Jack Culcay in Germany in 2015.
Now Hogan will be looking to emerge from April's clash with Mancunian Kelly with another chance to claim a world title in the light middleweight division, as the world number four takes on world number five in a de facto world title eliminator.
The fight will take place in the Brisbane Convention Centre, a venue where Brisbane-based Hogan has fought on plenty of occasions.
Interestingly, Hogan's opponent Kelly has family heritage in Kilkenny and Carlow, and has also just lost one fight in his career so far - a defeat to Liam Smith in a WBO world title bout.
