Longford lead Kildare by a point at half-time in crucial All-Ireland qualifier

Kildare 0-8
Longford 0-9
All-Ireland qualifier round two
Kildare trail Longford by the minimum following a draining first half of action in a sunkissed Pearse Park in Longford.
Neill Flynn has been the liveliest attacker for Kildare in the opening half, helping himself to four points as he carries the biggest threat to the Longford defence. Two of those came from play, while he has been assisted by some good work from Daniel Flynn alongside him who also has a point to his name.
Niall Kelly was black-carded somewhat harshly after just two minutes, with Eanna O'Connor coming in to the game to replace him.
Longford have looked extremely threathening when going straight through the middle at times, and they've smacked the crossbar twice as Liam Connerton saw two efforts canon off the woodwork. David Hyland has also prevented a goal by denying Robbie Smyth with a stunning block. Robbie Smyth has top-scored for the home side with three points, and Longford have seen seven of their players hit the target in the first 35 minutes.
It looks finely balanced for the second half, so join us back here in an hour's time for a full-time update.
