Longford next up as Kildare face trip to the midlands in All-Ireland qualifiers

Kildare will play Longford away in the All-Ireland Qualifiers round 2 after being pitted against Denis Connerton's side in this morning's draw.

Kildare secured their place in the second round of the All-Ireland qualifiers on Saturday afternoon when they defeated Derry in Owenbeg by 2-22 to 2-14.

It is a generally favourable draw for the Lilywhites who avoided Division 1 and 2 teams such as Monaghan, Clare and Down, while also not being paired against Carlow who had previously beaten the Lilywhites in Tullamore just over two weeks ago.

Longford lost out to Dublin in the Leinster semi-final by 2-25 to 0-12, though they did impress when beating Meath in the Leinster quarter-final on the same day that Kildare fell to Carlow.

The game will be played in Pearse Stadium on the weekend of June 23.

All-Ireland SFC Qualifiers round 2 draw:

Tipperary v Mayo

Waterford v Monaghan

Cavan v Down

Carlow v Tyrone

Offaly v Clare

Kildare v Longford

Sligo v Armagh
