Moolick bags 2 goals as Kildare surge into 6-point half-time lead

Kildare 3-6
Fermanagh 0-9
Allianz NFL Division 2
They may have failed to score in the final 14 minutes of the first half, but a sensational 13 minute salvo from Kildare has seen them go into the half-time break with a healthy six point lead over Fermanagh in an exhilarating National League encounter. The hosts are full value for their lead too, but four unanswered point towards the end of the half from the Erne men has given them a foothold in the game going into the second half.
Kildare's challenge was greatly aided by two Tommy Moolick goals that came within six minutes of each other midway through the half as the rangy midfielder finished off two superb team moves by punching the ball to the net on each occasion.
Chris Healy also netted for the second game running as he slotted home confidently after Neill Flynn found him with a quick free, while points from Daniel Flynn, Niall Kelly and Kevin Feely also helped Kildare gain momentum.
Barry Mulrone has been excellent for the visitors, kicking three long range points, and Kildare will need to prevent the centre-forward from exerting any more dominance on proceedings if they are to at least temporarily return to the top of Division 2.
