More silverware for Hyland! Kildare star lands Leinster Player of the Year award following All-Ireland success

The accolades keep coming for Jimmy Hyland.
The Ballyteague man was the star of the show as Kildare ended their 63-year wait for an All-Ireland football title at any level last Sunday when they defeated Mayo in the U20 All-Ireland final, and on Friday he was named as the Eirgrid GAA U20 Leinster Player of the Province for Leinster.
Hyland was in superb form for Kildare throughout the Leinster Championship, but he kicked it up a notch in the final win over Dublin when he scored eight points and won a penalty that was scored by Tony Archbold.
He went on to plunder 1-8 in the thrilling All-Ireland semi-final win over Kerry, before putting on a masterclass in attacking play against Mayo in the final when he shot 10 points for the Lilywhites, eight of which came from play.
Uachtarán Chumann Luthchleas Gael John Horan said:
“The recent EirGrid U20 GAA Football All-Ireland final was a high quality affair, and a fitting end to a fantastic competition which showcased the depth of the exciting talent that is emerging in Gaelic Football.
“Given the high standard of the matches in all four provinces, to be selected as the marquee performers is a major achievement and I salute Callum, Jimmy, Ross and Stefan on their awards and I look forward to seeing this crop of players make their mark on the game in the years to come at senior club and county level.”
