Naas RFC's AIL game the latest sporting event to fall foul of the weather

The deplorable weather conditions have played havoc with the fixture lists around the country this afternoon, with sporting events in every county falling foul of the persistent rain.

Naas RFC were due to play Ballynahinch in a home game at 2.30pm this afternoon, but the Forenaughts venue has been declared waterlogged and the game has been postponed. It was a vital game for the Kildare club as they look to cement their position in second place in the league against fifth placed Ballynahinch, but it will now take place at a later date.

The other four games that are pencilled in for this afternoon are all still going ahead as planned however.

Earlier this morning a raft of Kildare GAA club games that were due to take place were postponed due to unplayable pitches.
