Milltown v Naomh Eoin
Leinster JFC quarter-final, 4pm, Hawkfield
Milltown will be almost able to walk to the venue when they host Naomh Eoin of Carlow in what is pretty much their backyard in Hawkfield on Saturday evening.
The green and reds requested the game to be played at the venue, and you can understand why they would want to be as close to their own village as possible when looking to secure a place in a provincial semi-final.
They had it all to do in Wicklow last time out when they beat Kilcoole in an absolute battle in Aughrim, and that will surely have given them plenty of confidence and belief that they can make a serious impact on this competition.
The visit of the Carlow junior champions is a fascinating one as there is relatively little known about the Myshall club. They have plenty of prominent hurlers who play for the county, with the likes of Shane Kavanagh, James O’Hara, John Michael Nolan and Ross Smithers all prominent figures for the improving Carlow over the last few years.
Milltown will surely have done their homework on the opposition however, and they are big favourites to make home advantage count here.
