Raheens v St Kevin's the tie of the round as draw for Kildare IFC is made
21:30 Saturday 2nd of September 2017

Two of the favourites for The Courtyard Hotel Leixlip IFC title have been pitted against each other as Raheens and St Kevin's will face each other in the standout tie of quarter-final draw in that competition.

St Kevin's went down from the senior ranks in 2015 but have enjoyed a superb year so far, beating Round Towers to the Division 2 league title and looking impressive in their championship campaign to date. Raheens were shocked in round two by Kilcock but responded well by defeating Rathangan last time out to make it to this stage, and the winners of this quarter-final will have strong designs on claiming the title later this year.

Last year's beaten county finalists, Two Mile House, have been handed a tricky draw against Clogherinkoe in another standout tie, with the House beating Sallins in round three to make their way to the last eight while Clogherinkoe's victory over Nurney in the second round sent them on their way to this stage of the competition.

Ballyteague and Kilcock - the surprise package of the championship thus far - will fancy their chances of making a semi-final, while Monasterevan and Suncroft meet in the other quarter-final.

The draw for the quarter-finals of the Joe Mallon SFC will be held on Wednesday after the replay between Confey and Round Towers, with that draw holding up the next phase of the competition.
