Members of the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) held a lunchtime protest outside Naas General Hospital in Kildare on Friday.

It's part of a work-to-rule action in the hospital.

Members of the union also held a lunchtime protest outside the hospital on Monday.
The INMO said it is carrying out this action over what it claims are “unacceptable and unsafe staffing deficits”.
However Naas General Hospital said that total staff numbers increased from 796 whole-time equivalent (WTE) in December 2021 to 1,008 WTE in November 2025 - an increase of 212 WTE, or 27 per cent over four years.
The hospital also said it has put a range of measures in place to manage services and minimise disruption during the industrial action.
