TRAFFIC: Beware of icy patches as some roads still at freezing point
8:40 Tuesday 4th of December 2018

A chilly start to the morning means that many road surfaces are still at freezing point or below.

Motorists are advised to keep a good distance from the vehicle in front as braking distances are longer due to frosty surfaces.

Motorway display signs on the M7, M4 and M9 are showing Low Road Temperature warnings.

Drivers should fully defrost their vehicles for maximum visibility on the roads - fully clear both windscreens as well as mirrors and windows.

Don't use boiling water as this could crack the glass - use a scraper.

Don’t leave your car to defrost with the engine running.
