Well-known Kildare pub to host coffee and social morning fundraiser

All proceeds will go towards the Kildare branch of Down Syndrome Ireland
A well-known County Kildare pub is preparing to host a coffee and social morning fundraiser for a good cause.
The event aims to raise funds for the Kildare branch of Down Syndrome Ireland, a charity which works to ‘support people of all ages with Down Syndrome [through] early years therapy, education, employment and more’.
In addition, the event is being held to commemorate the late Kathleen Murphy, whom the organisers described as ‘a remarkable supporter, volunteer and friend, whose generosity, dedication and community spirit continues to inspire us all’.
Attendees can expect tea and coffee, sandwiches, and a selection of cakes and pastries.
The coffee and social morning will take place inside McDonnell’s pub (also known locally as ‘Neeson’s’) in Newbridge on Tuesday, October 27, 2026.
It will begin at 11am and conclude at approximately 3pm.
