GALLERY: Maynooth Gospel Choir sell out concert at the Sugar Club, Dublin PHOTOS BY AISHLING CONWAY The Maynooth Gospel Choir came together last Thursday night at the Sugar Club, for a night of beloved Beatles songs with a Gospel twist. The gig was kicked off by the very talented Ruba Shamshoum, a singer, composer and creator of musical escapism, with influences ranging from jazz to Middle Eastern music. The Choir got into the Beatle Mania, covering songs such a Let it Be, Blackbird, Imagine, Come Together, Here Comes the Sun, Octopus's Garden, and Hey Jude.  It was a fantastic night with a bit of twisting and shouting and a lot of “Love love love” from the audience. A great night had by all! A little about the choir... The Maynooth Gospel Choir was founded in 2007 and has been entertaining people and spreading positivity and feel-good energy ever since. Now in its 10th year, the choir has performed alongside such talented acts as Jack L, Roisin O’Reilly, Christy Dignam of Aslan, Connor McKeon, Brian Kennedy, Niamh Kavanagh, the Harlem Gospel Choir, and many more. The aim of the choir is to bring joy, uplift and inspire people to sing themselves happy! The choir have been going from strength to strength and are now looking for new members to join our energetic team. We’re holding auditions on July 4th and 6th in Maynooth, and would encourage anyone interested to go to: http://www.maynoothgospel.com/auditions.php [caption id="attachment_170499" align="alignnone" width="2218"] Maynooth Gospel Choir at the Sugar Club, Dublin[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170500" align="alignnone" width="2362"] Claire O'Reilly from Maynooth Gospel Choir at the Sugar Club[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170501" align="alignnone" width="2210"] Ruth O'Connor, Claire O'Reilly, Damien Kearney, Martha Allende and Sarah Hegarty[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170502" align="alignnone" width="2059"] Ruth O'Connor, John Moore and Emer Phelan[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170503" align="alignnone" width="2234"] Musical Director Michael Fay[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170504" align="alignnone" width="2059"] Emer Phelan, Michael Fay, Laura Greene and Mandy Frawley[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170505" align="alignnone" width="1820"] Breanndan O'Beaglaoich and Sarah Hegarty[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170506" align="alignnone" width="1820"] Laura Greene and Siobhan Deegan[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170507" align="alignnone" width="2146"] Claire O'Reilly, Breanndan O'Beaglaoich and Jacqueline Sexton[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170518" align="alignnone" width="2250"] Ronan McCabe, Damien Kearney, Breanndan O'Beaglaoich and John Moore[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170519" align="alignnone" width="2362"] Emer Phelan and Michael Fay[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170520" align="alignnone" width="1533"] Celine Keegan and Damien Kearney[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170521" align="alignnone" width="1804"] Mandy Frawley and Celine Keegan[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170522" align="alignnone" width="1533"] Celine Keegan[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170523" align="alignnone" width="1173"] Ronan McCabe[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170524" align="alignnone" width="1341"] Martha Allende[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170525" align="alignnone" width="1533"] Laura Greene[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170526" align="alignnone" width="1756"] Emer Phelan[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170527" align="alignnone" width="2123"] Michael Fay directs Maynooth Gospel Choir at the Sugar Club, Dublin[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170528" align="alignnone" width="2362"] Michael Fay directs Maynooth Gospel Choir at the Sugar Club, Dublin[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170529" align="alignnone" width="2362"] Maynooth Gospel Choir at the Sugar Club, Dublin[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170530" align="alignnone" width="2059"] Keyboard Player Brian Kennedy with the Maynooth Gospel Choir[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170531" align="alignnone" width="2362"] Keyboard Player Brian Kennedy with the Maynooth Gospel Choir[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170532" align="alignnone" width="1221"] Claire O'Reilly[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170533" align="alignnone" width="1533"] Jacqueline Sexton[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170534" align="alignnone" width="2059"] Jim Fay[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170535" align="alignnone" width="1373"] Ronan McCabe and Damien Kearney[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170536" align="alignnone" width="1533"] Laura Greene and Martha Allende[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170537" align="alignnone" width="1533"] Michael Fay[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170538" align="alignnone" width="2362"] Sarah Hegarty[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170539" align="alignnone" width="1533"] Siobhan Deegan[/caption] [caption id="attachment_170540" align="alignnone" width="1682"] Marion Stack[/caption]
