RIP: Pedestrian killed in Kildare after horror crash between car and bus

A pedestrian in his 30s has been killed after being struck in a horror road collision involving a car and bus near Carbury, Co Kildare.

Gardaí and emergency services remain at the scene of the fatal road traffic collision on the R402 at Kishawanny, between Edenderry and Carbury in Co Kildare, this morning, Friday, December 12, 2025.

The collision, involving a bus, a car and a pedestrian, occurred at approximately 6.30am, gardaí confirmed.

"The male pedestrian has been pronounced deceased. His body remains at the scene," they added.

A further statement said: "The coroner has been notified. No other injuries were reported at the time. The scene is being held pending technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

"The R402 at Kishawanny Road junction is currently closed with local diversions in place.

"Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.

"Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 5.45am and 6.45am this morning, Friday 12th December 2025, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Leixlip Garda Station on (01) 666 7800, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station."

Investigations are ongoing.
