The event will be officially opened by President Michael D Higgins at noon. The Championships is estimated to be worth some €40million to the economy. Some 355 ploughing competitors will be chasing national titles in 28 classes, but will also have more than 1,500 trade stands from both home and abroad. Day tickets are €20 at the gate.
