Kildare actress became a movie star after graduating from Maynooth

Actress Olwen Catherine Kelly has revealed how she ditched a science career to become a movie star. She has been receiving rave reviews for her unusual international screen debut in The Autopsy of Jane Doe - as a corpse. The film co-stars Emile Hirsch and Brian Cox and recently premiered at the Toronto film festival. Olwen, from Celbridge, Co Kildare, told RTE Radio 1: "I moved to London about four and a half years ago, I'd just finished studying science in Maynooth. olwen-catherine-kelly-2 "I moved to London and started modelling and from there I advanced into acting." Despite performing in a non-moving, non-speaking role, she has been applauded by critics. Olwen joked: "It's an unusual role - I just hope I don't get typecast."
