Details announced of major fundraiser for Clane GAA Club

Clane GAA Club yesterday launched details of its fundraising Business Lunch at the Westgrove Hotel yesterday. Guests, including Kildare football manager Cian O’Neill were present as the Club’s committee unveiled the special programme which aims to raise funds for the much-needed development of Conneff Park. Mr Jim Gavin, holder of three All Ireland Winners Medals as Dublin football manger has been announced as the event’s keynote speaker. Compered by Barry Murphy of Aprés Match fame, the line-up also includes a selection of special guests from across the country including Kerry’s Seamus Moynihan, Kildare’s Glenn Ryan and Galway’s Padraig Joyce.   Speaking at the launch event today, Anthony O'Dea, Chairman of the Club’s Organising Committee said: “Clane GAA Club is thrilled to welcome a top bill of sports personalities who are highly respected within the GAA community. Guests from across the community can look forward to a fun-filled afternoon of discussions with the GAA legends on topics such as the upcoming All Ireland Championships, as well as network with game enthusiasts from across Ireland.”

Sponsored by EMS Photocopiers, the event aims to raise funds to contribute to the improvement of the sports and club facilities for members of the Clane GAA Club. Anthony continued: “The Clane GAA Club membership has grown from strength to strength each year and we need to ensure the club’s facilities can continue to meet the needs of our existing members as we as attract new players to the GAA community. The money raised from this Business Lunch will help enhance the pitch environment of Conneff Park as well as develop the local clubhouse to effectively house all our members.” Cian O’Neill added: “It’s critically important that we continue to support the GAA in Kildare by investing in local clubs and ensuring that our standards are amongst the highest in the country.
