Another Costa outlet? Construction begins on a new cafe in Naas

Work has began on a large new cafe in the Globe Retail Park in Naas.

Located on the western section of the car park adjacent to the entrance of the retail park, the new standalone unit will be 4.7 metres in height and have an overall gross floor area of 245 sq metres. An outdoor seating area has also been included in the plans for the development which will cost €449,000.

Locals have been saying for months now that a Costa outlet was coming to the area, and KildareNow have attempted to verify those rumours with the coffee chain and the contractors involved. Costa have failed to issue a response at the time of publication, while the contractors were unable to verify that it will be a Costa store coming into the retail park.

The new premises was originally granted planning permission last May by An Bord Pleanala, but there was no movement in operations since that decision was made. The date for the commencement of the work was originally planned for February 20, but it wasn't until Wednesday of this week that workers arrived on site to begin.
