Chamber of Commerce calls on people to shop in the county for Christmas

North Kildare Chamber of Commerce is urging people to shop local for Christmas.

Allan Shine, Chief Executive of the Chamber (pictured with Chamber president Vivian Cummins), said the county has everything that families need for their festive preparations.

Mr Shine said: “As we approach the Christmas period we encourage the people of Kildare to visit our towns and local attractions, soak up the wonderful atmosphere, and avail of the great value and choice offered by our local businesses for Christmas shopping.”

He said: “Christmas marks the most important time in the retail calendar which creates jobs and retains money in the local economy. In the past year we have seen many more shops and restaurants open in towns across Kildare.

"By shopping local we will support the survival and growth of these businesses. For those who prefer to do their Christmas shopping online, it is important to remember that you can still shop local as many of our businesses also have online stores providing attractive offers."
