Co Kildare schoolboy to star in Bugsy Malone musical in Dublin

A Monasterevin youngster (11) has just been cast as a principle actor (Captain Smolsky) in  Bugsy Malone the musical.

Luke Kerins, who is a student of Showstoppers Stage School, was chosen from over 500 children who auditioned.

Bugsy Malone is on stage in the National Concert Hall in December and January.

Luke is returning to sixth class primary school in St John's Monasterevin next month just as he starts rehearsals for the big production.

This talented young musician and actor also attends singing and piano lessons with Kildare International School For Excellent Young Musicians (KISEYM) under the mentoring of Mrs Bernadette Hayden in the Curragh.
