The late T.J. (Thomas J) King
Tributes have poured in for a former Vice Principal of Patrician Primary School, Newbridge, who passed away peacefully on February 16 2025.
T.J (Thomas J) King, of Corbally, Newbridge, Kildare and formerly of Tuam Co. Galway, passed away surrounded by his loving family and under the wonderful care of the nurses and staff of Naas General Hospital.
T.J is predeceased by his parents, Jack and Mary King, his brothers Mattie, Michael, John Joe, Gerry, Jarlath, and sisters Mary, Christina, Philomena, and Imelda.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 53 years, Ina, his children, Caitriona, Niamh and Eoin, sons and daughter-in-law Danny, Joe and Sheila, and grandchildren, Grace, Ciara, Ethan, Emily, Cathal, Chloe, Eavan and Hugo, as well as his brother John, sister Teresa, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.
Tributes paid on RIP.ie included: “Deepest Sympathy to The King Family on the sad passing of TJ. TJ taught me in 5th Class Patrician Brother's Primary School Newbridge in the early 70s
Mr . King was a wonderful teacher and a gentleman. He treated everyone the same. May TJ Gentle Soul Rest in Enternal Peace.”

And: “My condolences to all the family members God be good to him a gentleman. Our class 4th was the 1st he taught in Conleth's around 1966. Rip Tj.”
While another mourner wrote: “Deepest condolences to Ina, Eoin and the extended King family on TJ's passing. A life of dedication to Patrician Primary and the Irish language. Rest in peace TJ.”
And another added: “To Ina, Catriona, Niamh and Eoin, so sorry to hear TJ has passed. One new choir leader up above I’m sure. Deepest Sympathies to all.”
Reposing at Anderson & Leahy's Funeral Home, Henry Street, Newbridge on Tuesday from 4pm with prayers at 7pm.
Removal from his residence on Wednesday morning at 10.30am to arrive at St. Peter's Church, Two Mile House for 11am Mass.
Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
