Tributes paid to 'lovely, kind gentleman' from Kildare

Condolences have flooded in following the passing of Maynooth man, Noel Clarke, who has been remembered as a “lovely, kind gentleman.”

Noel, of Smithstown, Maynooth, Co Kildare passed away peacefully at home in his 99th year. He is predeceased by his parents Edward and Kathleen, sister Maura and nephew Paul.

Sadly missed by his loving brother Gerard, sister Kathleen, brother-in-law Mike, nieces Joan and Becky, nephews Edward, John, Francis and David, grandnieces, grandnephews, great grandnieces, great grandnephews, cousins, relatives and a large circle of neighbours and friends.

May His Gentle Soul Rest In Peace

Tributes paid to Noel this week on RIP.ie included: “Deepest condolences to all of Noel's family and friends, I have great memories of Noel when I was a child growing up in Maynooth. Rest in peace.”

And: “A trip to Ireland was never complete without a day in Smithstown, and I always left there more knowledgeable after a chat with Noel. God blessed him with a long life and we were all blessed to know him. David did a beautiful tribute to Noel and it was obvious the priest knew Noel well. May he rest in peace and I know Auntie Maura is rejoicing to be with her beloved Noel again.”

While another mourner wrote: “So sorry to hear of the passing of Noel. He was a lovely, kind gentleman and he was very good to me growing up and I thank him for it. Condolences to all the Healy and Clarke family and many friends. Rest in peace, Noel x.”

And another added: “So sorry to hear of Noel’s passing. Sincere sympathy to all the family. He was a lovely man, always great to have a chat with and a true gentleman. May he rest in Peace.”

Reposing at his residence in Smithstown, Maynooth (W23W2W9) on Sunday from 4-8pm, with prayers at 7pm. Removal on Monday at 11am to arrive at St. Mary's Church, Maynooth for 11.30am funeral mass, followed by burial in Laraghbryan cemetery.
