Declan (Spinner) Byrne

The death has occurred of Declan (Spinner) Byrne, Leixlip, Kildare / Dundalk, Louth.

Byrne (Leixlip, Co. Kildare and formerly of Dundalk, Co. Louth) June 30th., 2025 (peacefully) after a long illness, in the loving care of the staff at St. James’ Hospital.

Declan (Spinner), beloved husband of Helena and much-loved father of Lisa and David; sadly missed by his loving family, grandchildren Archie, Riley, Lana and Millie, daughter-in-law Alex, Lisa’s partner David, brother Tom, sisters Margaret and Gina, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Lucan on Thursday evening (July 3) between 5:30pm and 7:30pm.

Removal from his home on Friday morning (July 4) to the Church of St. Charles Borromeo, Confey arriving for Funeral Mass at 10 am followed by burial in Confey Cemetery.

Orla Craig (née Murphy)

The death has occurred of Orla Craig (née Murphy), Lucan, Dublin / Maynooth, Kildare.

Craig (née Murphy), (Lucan, Co. Dublin and formerly of Maynooth, Co. Kildare) June 29 2025 (suddenly) at home.

Orla, beloved wife of Patrick and much loved mother of Lauren and Akeisha.

Sadly missed by her family, grandchildren Aria and Maia, mother, father, sisters, brothers, mother-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

May she rest in peace.

Reposing at her home from 6pm on Thursday (3rd July) and Friday (4th July). Removal on Saturday morning (July 5th) to St. Patrick’s Church, Esker arriving for Funeral Mass at 10am followed by burial in Esker Lawn Cemetery.

House strictly private on Saturday morning.

Eugene Donnelly

The death has occurred of Eugene Donnelly, 54 Clonmullion, Athy, Kildare.

Passed away at home. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Tricia, children Keith and Amy, brothers, sisters, Amy's partner Jimmy, Keith's partner Pamela, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandchildren Mia, Cian, Grace, Ivory, Juniper and Abigail, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Rigney's Funeral Home, Athy (R14 TX26) on Thursday evening (July 3) from 6pm until the conclusion of the Rosary at 8pm.

Removal from his residence (R14 EP04) at 10.30am on Friday morning (July 4) to arrive at St. Michael's Parish Church, Athy for Requiem Mass at 11am, see livestream link http://www.parishofathy.ie

Burial afterwards in St. Michael's Old Cemetery, Athy.

Gerry Doyle

The death has occurred of Gerry Doyle, Lucan, Dublin / Straffan, Kildare.

Doyle, Gerry (Patrick Gerard) (Lucan, Co. Dublin and formerly of Straffan, Co. Kildare) July 1 2025.

Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, in the exceptional care of the staff at St. Francis Hospice, Blanchardstown.

Beloved husband of Anne (Áine) (née McConigley) and much-loved father of Joanne and Peter and a cherished daddad of Tom, Art and Muireann.

Sadly missed by his loving wife, son, daughter, grandchildren, son-in-law Pierre, daughter-in-law Naoimh, brother Pierre, sisters Mary and Jan, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The death has occurred of Elizabeth (Betty) Kelso (née Shaw), Cardenton, Athy, Kildare.

The death has occurred of Elizabeth (Betty) Victoria Kelso (née Shaw), Cardenton, Athy, Co. Kildare peacefully at home on July 1 2025.

Beloved wife of the late Rev. Bertie Kelso and predeceased by her brothers Billy and Trevor and her sister Rosaleen.

Betty will be sadly missed by her children Mervyn, David and Andrea, her brother Mervyn, her daughter-in-law Susan, her grandchildren Ben, Emma, Victoria, Grace, George and Harry, her sisters-in-law Sheena and Rosemary, nephews, nieces and close friends.

Service in Athy Methodist Church, Woodstock Street, Athy at 12 noon on Thursday, July 3 2025.

Burial afterwards at Society of Friends burial ground, Rosenallis, Co. Laois.

Hilary Leo

The death has occurred of Hilary Leo, Rathfarnham, Dublin / Leixlip, Kildare.

Passed away suddenly, but peacefully, with her family by her side.

Cherished only daughter of Inez and the late Bill. Predeceased by her caring brother, Richard.

She will be forever loved and missed by her brothers, Will and Maurice, sisters-in-law, Brenda, Carol and Clodagh, nephews, Conor, Michael & Tom, niece, Kate and all her "Glen Easton" family & friends.

Rest in Peace

Cremation service will take place on Thursday July 3 at 3pm, in Mount Jerome Crematorium, Garden Chapel, Harold's Cross.
