Kildare man remembered as 'a genuine, honourable gentleman'

A Naas, Co Kildare man has been fondly remembered as a 'genuine, honourable gentleman.'

Kevin Hayes, Naas, Co Kildare / Foxrock, Dublin passed peacefully at home on July 19 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his wife Patricia, Kevin will be forever loved and very sadly missed by his loving children Aisling, Daragh, Aoife and Cathal, grandchildren Oisin, Tadhg, Harry, Sadhbh, Ailbhe, Úna, Cian, Alex, Liam and Conor, daughters-in-law Annie and Caroline, sons-in-law Declan and Brian, sisters Imelda, Catherine and Marie, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

May his gentle soul rest in peace.

Tributes paid to Kevin on RIP.ie this week include: “Sincere condolences to Kevin’s family …. we have only good memories of Kevin from Naas Tennis Club …. a genuine, honourable gentleman. May he rest in peace.”

And: “Deepest sympathy to the Haynes family on the sad passing of Kevin. May he rest in peace.”

While another mourner wrote: “Our deepest condolences to Aisling, Daragh, Aoife and Cathal on the untimely passing of your beloved dad. It was always a pleasure to meet Kevin on and off court. May he rest in peace.”

And another added: “Our deepest sympathy to all of Kevin's children and extended family. Kevin was a lovely man and great neighbour. We were so sad to hear of his death.”

Reposing at his home (W91 WRW7) on Monday July 21 from 5pm to 7pm.

Funeral on Tuesday July 22 with Requiem Mass at 10am in Church of Our Lady and St. David, Naas, followed by burial at St. Corban’s Cemetery, Naas.
