RIP: Tributes paid to 'true gentleman' from Kildare who passed recently

Tributes have been paid to a 'true gentleman' from Kildare who passed this week.

Pat Clancy, Kildare and late of Palmerstown Woods and Devenish Road, Kimmage, died on February 11 2026 after a short illness at Naas General Hospital.

Pat is the beloved father of Celine, Patrick and Joanne, loving partner of Frances, husband of the late Joan and loving grandad of Holly, Daragh, Shaun, Bobbie, Lucy, Jamie, Nathan and Megan.

Pat will be forever loved and sadly missed by his children, partner, grandchildren, daughter-in-law Irene, sons-in-law Brian and Larry, sisters Bridie and Alice, extended family and friends.

Pat will be reposing at the Brian McElroy Funeral Home, Crumlin Village on Thursday February 12 from 5pm to 7pm.

The Funeral Mass will take place on Friday February 13 at 11:30am in Saint Bernadette’s Church, Clogher Road, followed by cremation in The Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome at 1pm.

Tributes paid to Pat on RIP.ie this week include: “My sincere condolences, so sad, Pat was a true gentleman, my late brother Maurice best friend, always remember the good days growing up in Devenish Road, playing football with Pat and the putting green in the back garden of 36. So many cherished memories. Rest in Peace Pat.”

And: “Sincere condolences to Joanne and family on your profound loss. May your beloved father rest in peace.”

While another mourner wrote: “Dear Frances, I'm saddened to hear your Dear Pat had passed away.
Please know that I will be praying for you and all Pat's family.”

And another added: “Thinking of all Pat's family at this very sad time may pat rest in peace, old neighbours 25 Cloverhill Drive Ballyfermot.”
