Will never forget the memories and many laughs and great times we shared both together and in Fiddlers Green. R.I.P.”

And: “Thinking esp of my friend Gaye and the Kennedy and Mc Carthy families, I was so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear brother Danny whom I had met once in your old house when he visited and the banter and fun between you both left a wonderful lasting impression. You spoke so lovingly and fondly of him, like a big sisters love and the great times you had on your visits to him. My prayer is that you will all know Gods comfort, peace and loving arms around you at this time of great loss. God bless.”

While another mourner wrote: “My deepest sympathy to all the McCarthy family on the great loss of Danny. May his kind and gentle soul rest in eternal peace, reunited with Mary and all his loved ones gone before him. Thinking of you all at this sad and difficult time. Thinking of you.”

And another added: “Very sad to hear of Danny’s passing. A true gentleman and a gifted musician, I’ve no doubt that he’ll be entertaining with his guitar above. My sincere sympathies with Ronan, Lorna, Donal, Aline, Suzie, Mary, Paul, all of his grandchildren and siblings. Suaimhneas síoraí dó.”
