Demo planned for Curragh quarry tomorrow

Local residents are to hold a demo over a quarry in the Curragh tomorrow morning.

Organisers expect up to 40 people at the 10am protest outside the facility in Ballysax.

The residents say they're completely opposed to any new development at the quarry.

However the operators of the facility have insisted there are no plans to increase its size or convert it into a landfill.

Last month a protest caused traffic problems when locals drove at ten miles per hour on approach roads to the quarry.
