Diana calling on Kildare people to sign up for charity cycle

Together with child’s rights organisation Plan International Ireland , the former RTE star and author, Diana Bunici is calling on all sporting and cycling enthusiasts, both men and women, to sign up for their Vietnam Cycle for Girls 2018.

The trip of a lifetime from April 4th-13th allows participants to experience undiscovered and remote regions of south-east Asia while raising much needed funding for Plan International Ireland’s projects for girls.

Cyclists from a wide variety of backgrounds are encouraged to join the trip and immerse themselves in local culture while pedalling 250km through stunning rice paddy fields and remote mountain villages.

Diana said; “"I'm delighted to support Plan Ireland's Cycle for Children next April. I've always believed in using my voice to help make a difference where possible and this 10 day once in a lifetime experience will be the biggest personal challenge I've ever taken. I'm excited to explore the beauty of Vietnam over what will be a gruelling 10 days cycle but most of all, I can't wait to witness first-hand the projects Plan International are implementing on the ground in Vietnam with children, especially girls, who would otherwise miss out on an education if it were not for the work of the organisation."

Participants will also have the unique experience of visiting Plan International girl’s rights projects along the way and see how their fundraising efforts are helping more girls get educated and reach their full potential.

Plan International has been working in Vietnam since 1993.

The organisation’s work in northern Vietnam aims to provide bi-lingual schooling to ethnic minorities, especially girls, through improved learning spaces and better teacher training.
