Firearm, drugs and 35 arrests made by Gardaí in Carlow district today

Gardaí in the  Kilkenny/Carlow Division today made 35 arrests, searched a total of 24 premises, seized drugs and one firearm.

12 people were arrested under warrant and dealt with accordingly (taken to Court), 4 were charged and taken to court and a total of 19 prisoners are detained at Carlow (6), Kilkenny (8) and Thomastown (5) Garda Station under Section 4 of Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

A total of 24 premises were searched in Kilkenny city, Urlingford and Castlecomer, which are all dwellings with the exception of one premises. Drugs to the value of €34,000 (subject to analysis) were seized in these searches.

The firearm which was a handgun was seized during a search in Kilkenny city.
