First baby of 2017 in Co Kildare

This is the first baby of the New Year from Co Kildare - born at the Coombe Hospital in Dublin at 7.45am yesterday.

The baby weighed in at seven pounds 12 ounces (3.2kg).

A proud Rose said: "We are thrilled to start off the new year by welcoming our beautiful baby boy to our family.

"Myself and my husband can't thank the staff at The Coombe enough for the wonderful care that they have given us and our bundle of joy."
