A dance group based in Newbridge will perform on the world's biggest dance stage this weekend.

18 members of the KNC Performing Arts Company (KNC), aged between 12 and 19 years of age, will be attendance at Move It, which will take place in England.

Move It is a dance event that hosts 25,000 dancers from across the globe.

The group is led by Katie and Niamh Conlan, who will also be joining a number of A-list choreographers and celebs to teach at the convention.

KNC has told the Leader that it had applied to attend for the first time before Christmas, and were one of the very small numbers of acts chosen to perform on the main stage.

They will be performing a piece choreographed by Niamh entitled 'Neverland.'

Commenting on the upcoming event, KNC said: "The group will be flying to London on Friday along with some supports where they will take classes, and workshops, and will perform on the main stage this Sunday!

"This is a massive deal and an experience our students will never forget.

"They will be performing alongside top UK based colleges and will get to meet some of the world's best dancers.

"The students are led by dance captain Aisling Tierney and the cast includes David Quirke as Captain Hook, Keeley Byrne as Peter Pan, Isabelle Karney as Wendy, and Grace Rollinson as Tinkerbell."

KNC enjoyed success last year after it won 154 world medals, one of its members, Conor O' Donnell, was cast in the Apple+ series 'Bad Sisters', alongside actors Sharon Horgan and Eve Hewson.
