KILDARE: New bridge should be build over the Grand Canal

This would connect residential areas in Naas

Naas canal banks will be closed to traffic every Sunday of the year

Grand Canal, Naas

A new bridge should be built over the Grand Canal in Naas.

Local councillor Bob Quinn said it it should be provided as part of the Greenway project, which will bring walking and cycling routes to the waterway.

He wants the bridge to be built by Kildare County Council at the third lock as part of the public consultation process for the Naas to Sallins Greenway.

This would connect the areas of Aylmer Park, Monread, Oldtown Demesne, Landen Park, The Orchard and the other
residential estates on the other side of the waterway.
