A celebration is planned in Newbridge next month when the Cill Mhuire church in Ballymany marks the 40th anniversary of its opening.
Everybody who has links with the church is invited to attend a special Mass on Sunday, December 3rd at 10.30am.
The church was designed by local architect, John Delaney and was blessed in 1983 by the late Bishop Patrick Lennon.
The sanctuary in Cill Mhuire was significantly reordered recently and the jubilee with be an opportunity for townspeople to see the changes.
Anyone who was baptised, confirmed, married, received First Communion or involved in the construction of Cill Mhuire is especially welcome as are members of various nationalities who worship there.
A display of photographs will be mounted in the church to mark the jubilee. Townspeople are invited to attach their own pictures of family events in Cill Mhuire over the past forty years.
The church has a strong relationship with the nearby Scoil Mhuire and former pupils and teachers are also asked to participate.
