An update has been issued by Kildare County Council (KCC) in relation to the status of planned footpath repairs for the Main Street in Maynooth.
KCC discussed the proposed repairs at the latest Clane-Maynooth Municipal District (MD) meeting, which was held on Friday, December 1 last.
Labour Party councillor Angela Feeney asked KCC for an update on the repairs.
KCC issued the following response to her query: "The planned footpath repairs referred to were bundled into the delivery of the Town Renewal Masterplan for Maynooth (TRMP).
"The process to deliver the TRMP will commence in Q1 of 2024.
"It is envisaged that a number of key projects will be identified for delivery during the consultation process, and may include the redesign of Main Street and Court House Square."
"The Urban Regeneration and Development Fund package announced for Maynooth provides funds to develop key town renewal projects identified in the TRMP to Part 8, Detail Design and Tender Stages," KCC concluded.
