Section of Maynooth Orbital Route should open in Q2 of 2024, Kildare County Council says

A section of the Maynooth Orbital Route (MOR) should open in Q2 of next year, according to Kildare County Council (KCC).

The announcement was made at the latest Clane-Maynooth Municipal District meeting, which was held on Friday, December 1 last.

It came about when Fine Gael councillor asked KCC the following question at the meeting: "Can the council confirm when the Straffan Road to Celbridge Road section of the MOR will open to public traffic?"

KCC responded to his question with this segment in its report at the meeting: "The KCC Roads Planning Section has engaged with the developer in relation to this question, and the developer has confirmed that the main Distributor Road through the Mullen Park Development should be open in May 2024 (Q2 2024).

"This will be subject to the outstanding works and compliance conditions being completed to the satisfaction of KCC."

"The Transport Department will keep the members updated on this matter," KCC added.
