Ten year planning permission is sought for a solar farm between Punchestown and Ballymore Eustace.
A planning application has been lodged with Kildare County Council by Portlaoise-based company, EEL Mullacash Solar Ltd.
The site for the proposed development is an area spanning Flemingtown South (Tonaphuca), Donode Big, Sillagh and Swordlestown South.
The planning documents refer to a solar energy development with a total site area of 128.66 hectares.
The proposed development would comprise a series of substations and ground-mounted solar panels.
Approval is also sought for a temporary construction compound as well as security fencing and CCTV.
The planned solar farm would be operational for 40 years, according to planning documents.
