A temporary road closure in County Kildare will take place in April.
Kildare County Council (KCC), on behalf of Uisce Éireann, gives notice in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 and the Roads Regulations, 1994 that it will close the road during the period commencing Tuesday, April 2, 2024 to Friday, April 19, 2024, in order to facilitate permanent reinstatement.
The temporary closure relates to Loughlinstown Road (L5061) from the R403 Dublin Road to the R405 Hazelhatch Road, Celbridge.
KCC elaborated: "Planned works are programmed for two to three calendar weekdays.
"Advance notification of start date will be provided."
KCC continued: "Roads will be opened if works are completed early.
"Only one road closure will be in operation at any one time on the R403 with no conflicting roadworks in operation," KCC concluded.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES
Westbound vehicles on the R403 from Lucan/M4 attempting to turn onto Loughlinstown Road will be diverted straight until Shinkeen Road Junction.
They will continue on Shinkeen Road (circa 0.5km) to the R405 Junction where they will divert left onto the R405 and continue as far as the roundabout at Hazelhatch railway station where the diversion will end.
Northbound vehicles from R405 (Hazelhatch Road) attempting to turn right onto the Loughlinstown Road will be diverted straight on the R405 (Hazelhatch Road) as far as Shinkeen Road where it will divert right.
They will continue on the Shinkeen Road (circa 0.5km) and divert right back onto the R403 as far as the junction with Loughlinstown Road where the diversion will end.
Diversionary routes will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the Council and An Garda Síochána.
Emergency access and restricted local access will be maintained.
