Last year, the court was told that Cathal Fitzpatrick, with an address listed as 93 Moorefield Drive in Newbridge.
Gardaí alleged that on August 1 last, the 32-year-old defendant allegedly assaulted a person while at a property located on Dublin Street in Kildare town.
On the latest court date, further details were heard in the case.
It was claimed that the alleged injured party is a female, and that she was allegedly headbutted by Mr Fitzpatrick.
She sustained a fracture to her nose as a result of the alleged assault.
Judge Desmond Zaidan refused jurisdiction over the case and adjourned it to November 7, to allow time for the preparation of a book of evidence.
