Tributes paid to Michael Deely, late father of missing Kildare man Trevor Deely

RIP to the late Michael Deely.

The father of missing Naas man Trevor Deely has passed away, it has been announced.

Michael Deely passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 1, and was surrounded by his loving family, in the care of the staff at TLC Centre in Maynooth.

Removal will take place on Saturday to the Church of Our Lady and St David, Naas, arriving for 10am Mass, with the Funeral taking place immediately afterwards in St Corban’s Cemetery.

'HIS HUMAN QUALITIES SET HIM APART'

A number of tributes have been paid to Michael Deely on RIP.ie's Condolence Book section.

One person said: "Sincere sympathy to the Deely family on the death of Michael.

"I’ve fond memories of our days at St Brendan’s National School in Loughrea.

"May he Rest in Peace."

Another user said: "I am saddened to learn of the passing of Michael.

"He was a tremendous servant of the Irish Agri Food Industry throughout his professional career, those of us who were fortunate to know and work with him will remember a man of total integrity, passion and diligence.

"His human qualities set him apart; he was of gentle disposition and sincerity in his interactions.

"If he could not do you a good turn he certainly would not do you a bad one.

"May he rest in peace."

A third user described Michael Deely as 'a man of honour, courage and an inspiration to all who face great challenges.'

"God grant him eternal rest," they added.

Lastly, Westport Hurling Club said the following about Michael: "Do Mhark agus do mhuintir uile an Deely, cuirimid ár gcomhbhrón ó chroí chugaibh ag an am deacair seo. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam / To Mark and all the Deely family we offer our deepest sympathies to you at this difficult time. May he rest in peace."

The death has occurred of Michael Deely.

Naas, Kildare / Loughrea, Galway.

August 1, 2024, (peacefully), surrounded by his loving family, in the tender loving care of the staff at TLC Centre Maynooth.

Michael, beloved husband of Ann and dear father of Mark, Michele, Pamela and Trevor (still missing).

Predeceased by his brother Ralph and sister Angela.

Michael will be forever loved and missed by his loving wife, sons, daughters, heartbroken grandchildren Megan, Ella, Lauren, Anna, Lily, Nina, Adam, Sami and Tarek, sisters Mary, Roisín, Gertie and Imelda, sons-in-law Brian and Djalel, daughter-in-law Denise, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing on Friday from 5pm to 7pm at Murphy Brothers Funeral Home, Church Lane, Naas W91 VY71.

Removal on Saturday to the Church of Our Lady and St David, Naas arriving for 10am Mass.

Funeral immediately afterwards to St Corban’s Cemetery.

Family flowers only please.
